Announcements for week of 1/7-1/13

This week in the Friendship Registry!
School Tutoring begins this January. We are in need of volunteers to help with this wonderful ministry to reach out to children. Please sign up to help in the Friendship Registry today and/or sign up in the Narthex.

Also, please sign-up in the Narthex or Friendship Registry to help with Snow Removal or Coffee Fellowship before Worship Services. Thank you for your help with our church’s ministries!

The 2007 Coffee Hour Sign-up is in the kitchen. Please sign up to serve coffee and snacks after worship. Call Tammy Mobley with any questions.

FISH is in need of your help. You can donate canned foods by placing them in the grocery cart today or you can help by making a check out to FISH and putting it into the offering plate or by sending a check made out to FISH to Hazel Blanchard, 271 Dogwood Drive, Greenville.

Stephen Ministry Group (both our past group and our new group) will meet on Tuesday, January 16th at 7:00 p.m. The new group will be commissioned on February 11th.

LOGOS NEWS: On January 10th LOGOS will be celebrating our second annual Grandparents Night. Remember to invite your grandparents to dinner, and remind them to phone the church office with their reservation.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to David Layman and his family as he recovers from quadruple bypass surgery. If you would like to send cards please send them in care of: First Presbyterian Church, 100 North 10th St., Richmond, Indiana 47374.

Tuesday Gals will meet in the Social Hall on January 9th at 5:30 p.m. There will be a salad carry-in, so please bring a salad to share. All women of the church are welcome. Please call Toni Heggie with any questions.

Lock-In for Sr. High - Mark your calendars for an evening of fun Sunday, January 14th. Note – This lock-in is for Sr. High only, which is a correction from last week’s bulletin & the Link. Contact Chris Benek for more information.

January 14th - Work Day - Please sign up in the Narthex if you would like to help us paint the basement. We will be painting beginning after Worship. All are welcome to help and Sr. High kids can stay for the lock-in that evening! Thank you for your fellowship to the church.

Dartball Fans! Calling one, calling all! Please come and cheer on your fellow Presby Dartballers. The following is a list of upcoming games and the tournament schedule. All regular league games are at 7:30 p.m.

Picture Directories are available. Please pick up your church directory today in the Narthex. Anyone who had a photograph taken or submitted a photograph will receive a complimentary directory. All others can purchase a directory for $4.75 each. A special thank you to Jan Boyer and her committee for a job well done!

Transformation 2007! There has been a change in venue for the girl’s retreat in March. It will not be hosted at Hueston Woods, it will now be hosted here at the church. Thank you to everyone for our special offerings. We were able to give each of our missions: Holcombs, Castalluccios, Sommers, Tanner Romania Mission, Strides n Stirrups, & Toys for Tots $100.00. Our Christmas Eve offering collected $1,481.75 to be split for the Deacon’s Fund and FISH. Also individual offerings towards the Deacon’s Fund added another $775.00.

Super Bowl Party! The church will host a Super Bowl Party, broadcasting the big game on the big screen in the Sanctuary on Sunday, February 4th.

Congratulations! The carnations on the communion table are in celebration with Molly & Chris Mumaw on the birth and adoption of their new twin daughters, Jillian & Jocelyn, born on December 28, 2006. Congratulations to grandparents Jerry and the late Donna McConaha and Patricia & Dennis Mumaw and great-grandparents Vrina & the late Marion Grimes.

Congratulations! The carnation on the communion table is in celebration with Betsy & Aaron Ward on the birth of their son, C. Ryan James Ward, born on January 3, 2007. Congratulations to grandparents Jim & Sherry Ward, Susan Hohler, and Terry Cassell.

Christian Education Meeting Change! We will meet on the 4th Sunday of this month, Sunday, January 28th, 2007 at 8:15 a.m.

Fundraiser - The Youth Girls will be selling Romer’s chicken dinners and distributing them from 4:30-7pm on Friday, February 2nd in fellowship hall in order to raise funds for their weekend retreat, Transformation 2007.
