Announcements for 3/12-3/18

This week in the Friendship Registry sign up to help with Children’s Sermons, this summer’s Block Party, and/or The Easter Sunrise Service and Breakfast!


FISH is in need of your help. You can donate canned foods by placing them in the grocery cart the first Sunday of the month. FISH also needs volunteers to accept phone calls, deliver food, or do both one day per month. Please call FISH at 548-2000 if you are interested.


LOGOS NEWS: We celebrate Easter early this year, but our hearts are still filled with lots of thanks and praise to our Savior! Come and enjoy our last formal LOGOS, next week will be our closing banquet. Remember to invite your family to this celebration!


Lenten Soup & Sermon Series will continue every Wednesday until Palm Sunday. These begin at 12:05 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor John will be preaching on March 28th.


The Darke County March of Dimes is having their annual WalkAmerica on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Darke County Fairgrounds. If you would like to donate to March of Dimes, which raises funds for research to help detect birth defects, and provide emotional/medical support to families with premature babies, please contact Lauren Henry at 548-3188 or 547-1282. Any donations can be made payable to March of Dimes.


The Deacons are asking for your help in making Easter a little happier for some Head Start children. We will be putting 40 Easter baskets together and are in need of socks & underwear. Please prayerfully consider adopting a basket by taking a “sheep” from the Easter Tree in the Narthex. The sizes and the Deacon responsible for the basket will be listed. Your items are to be delivered to the church by March 25th. We thank you in advance for your support of this important ministry


Jesus Christ Superstar! If you would like tickets to this musical, of the greatest story ever told, at the Schuster Center in Dayton, please sign up in the Narthex. The performance is Saturday, April 21st. This is their last final tour in Dayton, so don’t miss this amazing event. Sign up today in order to reserve your tickets!


Scholarship Applications Available! All High School seniors who will be entering college as freshman this fall should receive an application for the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship and the Clark Scholarship by mail. These applications are also available in the church office. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship from the church and fulfill the guidelines as outlined on the application, please fill out the application in full and return it to the church office. The First Presbyterian Church Scholarship is due May 1st and the Clark Scholarship is due April 15th. Also, College students are eligible to submit an application for the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship as well.

Ministry Workshop for older adults – The Ministry with Older Adults of the Miami Presbytery Presents “Become Who You Are,”- Conversations Concerning Change, Renewal, and Call. If you are interested in attending please fill out a registration form in the Narthex and turn it in to the church office. The cost of the conference is $10.00 payable to Miami Presbytery. The conference is being held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church of Fairborn, Ohio.



Peanut Butter & Jelly Needed! Please bring in peanut butter and jelly for Community Unity to be used in Darke County. Your donations greatly help our community.

Please order your Easter Flowers today! Order forms are located in the Narthex. You can choose from Easter Lilies, Hyacinths, Tulips, or Mums. Each flower is $8.95. This week is the last week to order flowers. Please drop your money & order form in envelope for Easter Flowers in the offering plate, or call the office with your order. Flowers can be taken home after the worship service on Easter Sunday, April 8th.


High School Youth Mission Trip to Chicago, IL on June 30 – July 8, 2007. If you are interested in going with the church to help spread Christ’s work to the homeless, addicted, abused, those afflicted with AIDS, and to help children through VBS, block parties, and prayer walks, please contact Chris Benek or sign up in the Narthex. The cost for the trip is $650 per participant. The group will spend the last two days of the trip at Cedar Point Amusement and Water Park. Pamphlets are available in the Narthex with more details.
