The Deacons are asking for your help in making Easter a little happier for some Head Start children. We will be putting thirty Easter baskets together and are in need of clothing. Please prayerfully consider adopting a basket by taking a “sheep” from the Easter Tree in the Narthex. The sizes and the Deacon responsible for the basket will be listed. High School Youth Mission Trip to Chicago, IL on June 30 – July 8, 2007. If you are interested in going with the church to help spread Christ’s work to the homeless, addicted, abused, those afflicted with AIDS, and to help children through VBS, block parties, and prayer walks, please contact Chris Benek or sign up in the Narthex. The cost for the trip is $650 per participant. The group will spend the last two days of the trip at Cedar Point Amusement and Water Park. Pamphlets are available in the Narthex with more details.

Scholarship Applications Available! All High School seniors who will be entering college as freshman this fall should receive an application for the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship and the Clark Scholarship by mail. These applications are also available in the church office. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship from the church and fulfill the guidelines as outlined on the application, please fill out the application in full and return it to the church office. The First Presbyterian Church Scholarship is due May 1st and the Clark Scholarship is due April 15th. Also, College students are eligible to submit an application for the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship as well.

Ministry Workshop for older adults – The Ministry with Older Adults of the Miami Presbytery Presents “Become Who You Are,”- Conversations Concerning Change, Renewal, and Call. If you are interested in attending please fill out a registration form in the Narthex and turn it in to the church office. The cost of the conference is $10.00 payable to Miami Presbytery. The conference is being held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church of Fairborn, Ohio.

Darke County Center of the Arts presents The Spencers, Theatre of Illusion on Saturday, February 24th at 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall. The Spencers use illusion as a source of healing and therapy. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 14. If interested please call DCCA at 547-0908.

Hospice Grief Support Series Offered. The group will meet every Wednesday through February 21st, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Hospice Office at 1350 N. Broadway in Greenville. Sessions are free to the public and we encourage anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one to attend. To register or for more information call 548-2999 or 800-417-7535. Please look in your February LINK for a full listing of Bereavement groups for 2007 sponsored by State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.

The American Cancer Society is sponsoring the Relay for Life, a 2-day fun-filled event to raise money for cancer research at Heritage Park in Versailles on July 20-21st. The American Cancer Society is sponsoring the Relay for Life, a 2-day fun-filled event to raise money for cancer research at Heritage Park in Versailles on July 20-21st. The Darke County March of Dimes is having their annual WalkAmerica on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Darke County Fairgrounds. Thank you to everyone for our special offerings. We were able to give each of our missions: Holcombs, Castalluccios, Sommers, Tanner Romania Mission, Strides n Stirrups, & Toys for Tots $100.00. Our Christmas Eve offering collected $1,481.75 to be split for the Deacon’s Fund and FISH. Also individual offerings towards the Deacon’s Fund added another $775.00.

Thank you to everyone for our special offerings. We were able to give each of our missions: Holcombs, Castalluccios, Sommers, Tanner Romania Mission, Strides n Stirrups, & Toys for Tots $100.00. Our Christmas Eve offering collected $1,481.75 to be split for the Deacon’s Fund and FISH. Also individual offerings towards the Deacon’s Fund added another $775.00.
Super Bowl Party! The church will host a Super Bowl Party, broadcasting the big game on the big screen in the Sanctuary on Sunday, February 4th.
Congratulations! The carnations on the communion table are in celebration with Molly & Chris Mumaw on the birth and adoption of their new twin daughters, Jillian & Jocelyn, born on December 28, 2006. Congratulations to grandparents Jerry and the late Donna McConaha and Patricia & Dennis Mumaw and great-grandparents Vrina & the late Marion Grimes.

Christian Education Meeting Change! We will meet on the 4th Sunday of this month, Sunday, January 28th, 2007 at 8:15 a.m.
Fundraiser - The Youth Girls will be selling Romer’s chicken dinners and distributing them from 4:30-7pm on Friday, February 2nd in fellowship hall in order to raise funds for their weekend retreat, Transformation 2007.
