The carnation on the communion table is in celebration with Kim and Kriston Horn on the birth of their son, Grayson Kelly on April 17, 2007. Congratulations to grandparents, Annie Horn, Dennis and Kellie Lovejoy, and Chris and Karen Steele. Congratulations to great-grandparents Norman Terrell and Karen & Gene Henninger.


Our thoughts and prayers are with parents, Terry and Lindsay Swartz and grandparents, David and Karen Friar as they mourn the loss of their baby boy, Hayden Michael Swartz.

SERVANT OPPORTUNITIES
***Remember to please sign up in the Friendship Registry if you are interested in helping with the following:
Children’s Sermons, Vacation Bible School on July 15-19th, and/or the Block Party on June 16-17th.

Also, there is a two-part new member class information session on May 2nd and May 9th at 7pm. Please sign up in the friendship registry if you are interested.


Confirmation 2007 is beginning. There is an information session today from 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Please turn in your registration forms to Pastor John or the church office. Class will run through Confirmation Sunday on June 17th.


FISH is in need of volunteers. Please bring canned food the first Sunday of the month. FISH also would like volunteers to take phone calls and/or deliver food one day per month. Please call FISH at 548-2000 if you are interested.


Chicken BBQ tickets are on sale. Dinners are $7.00 each and proceeds will go directly to the Block Party. The chicken dinners can be picked up at the church kitchen on Friday, June 8th from 4:30-6:30 pm. See Chris Benek for tickets.


Peanut Butter & Jelly donations are being requested by Community Unity. Please bring these items in to the church office or place in the pantry in the kitchen.


Kirkmont Camp Applications are available in the Narthex. The Presbyterian church camp site is hosting many varied children’s camps this summer and scholarships are available for our members to attend at little cost. For more information on the scholarships please see Ginny Bertram or a Christian Education Committee member.


Adult Intermediate Aerobics for 18 yrs. and older will run May 14-June 28 Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church. The class size is limited to 30 and the fee is $12. Please register at the Greenville Parks & Recreation Office. Marnelise van der Walt is the instructor.


Scholarship Applications are Available. The First Presbyterian Church scholarship applications are due by May 1st.


Alive 07 20th Annual Christian Music Concert! Church youth, sign up in the Narthex if you would like to attend the Alive 07 concert June 20-24. The cost is $150*. *There may be an additional $35 transportation fee. The concert will be a great time to enjoy Christian music, fellowship, and learn more about Christ. Attention all softball players! The church is forming softball teams for the summer. Please contact Chris Benek for more details. Men’s softball sign-up is in the Narthex. See Dan Hawley for details.
Golf for Kid’s Sake 2007 – Big Brothers/Big Sisters is holding its annual golf tournament at Stillwater Valley Golf Club on Saturday, May 19th at 8:00 a.m. If you are interested in forming a team, brochures are available in the Narthex.

Nikki Greendyke would like to attend Athletes in Action Spiritual Development camp in Colorado this summer. If you would like to make a donation for Nikki please see Chris Benek.
National Day of Prayer is May 3rd at noon on the steps of the Greenville City Building.


Main Street Greenville Adopt a Box Program – downtown Greenville is adopting out flower boxes for $25 each. They will place a plaque at each box recognizing the donor. The community planting is May 19th from 8-11 am. If you are interested call Main Street Greenville at 548 -4998.
Please place donations for the Wavaires in designated baskets to show our appreciation for their fine performance.
